Comment responsibility

EBay has been cleared in a lawsuit that tried to say the auction company was responsible for content written by their members. At issue was a feedback item written by an eBay member. The feedback accused another member of being dishonest, and the target of the comment responded by suing eBay for libel.

If you run a Weblog that allows the public to make comments, this precedent may mean that you are not liable for comments made by visitors to your blog. Of course you would want to consult your attorney to get their advice.
